PhD students
At INGENIO, we promote the training of future professionals, preparing them to face the real challenges our societies encounter.
We are PhD students carrying out our doctoral theses at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), supervised by researchers affiliated with UPV and CSIC.
Through different committees, managing welcome activities, internal training and seminars for new students, as well as internal communication and the organisation of PhDays.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW UPON ARRIVAL?
GROUPS AND SOCIAL NETWORKS
Create a profile on the INGENIO website and describe your topics of interest, skills and experiences.
Get to know the PhD student committees and collaborate with them.
Join the coffee group and share the common space.
Follow INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) social networks to stay informed about activities and share interesting posts.
EVENTS AND NETWORKING
Take part in internal seminars and other activities such as Away Day, Annual PhD Seminar, PhDays and more. Subscribe to receive regular updates.
Attend informal meetings (Tutti-Fruti) announced via email to discuss institute management and activities.
Join informal gatherings (Call for drinks) organised by institute members via email.
Subscribe to the mailing list of the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology (Eurograd). Request information on financial support for attending conferences, summer schools and mobility between associated groups.
TRAINING
Request certificates for the internal seminars held at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) from the certificates committee organised by the PhD student group.
Access the offer of transversal training (usually three per year) and specific training from the Doctoral School of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). For specific training, pay attention to the courses offered, both compulsory and optional, in your doctoral programme. You can also access the UPV library resources, as well as the training offer from the UPV’s Centre for Continuing Education (CFP).
If you are employed by the CSIC, you can access the transversal training courses (free through the CSIC intranet), as well as projects for scientific dissemination and outreach. You can also use the CSIC Library to borrow books and other materials.
ACADEMIC INDICATORS
To keep all your academic indicators up to date, don’t forget to record your achievements on the three available platforms.
First, include your achievements in the INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) intranet: books, articles, posters, participation in organising committees, and other contributions.
If you are a UPV doctoral student, upload your achievements in the “Thesis Management” section of the Senia platform via the UPV intranet.
If you are CSIC staff, confirm that your achievements and contributions have been uploaded to the “Conciencia” platform under the corporate applications section.
UPV SERVICES
As a student of the Doctoral School, you can also access sports, health, and other services: Go to the UPV Medical Centre if you have any problem, incident, or accident; you can also request an appointment in advance. To do so, enter the UPV intranet, under the section “Centro de Salud Laboral Juana Portaceli”.
If you wish to consume locally produced and ecological food products, join the “Cistella Responsable” initiative, which offers a service of seasonal vegetable baskets. More information is available on its website.
