Abstract:
Serious games are designed not just for entertainment but with a purpose beyond play, such as education and social good. They can complement traditional learning and teaching resources, while also opening new avenues for digital social innovation. This seminar will focus on research conducted with the serious game Green Siesta, played by more than 300 participants. Alongside survey responses, in-game data were collected, enabling us to track players’ “green” progress and to evaluate the inclusiveness of the application in the context of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). The session will highlight insights into how serious games can contribute to environmental awareness and inclusivity.
