About

Cristina Galiana Carballo has been a predoctoral researcher at INGENIO since 2022. She holds a degree in Natural Environment Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and a Master’s degree in Development Cooperation from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).

Her doctoral thesis focuses on the evaluation of agroecological viability assessment methods for family farming. Her current research lines are framed within social metabolism applied to urban agri-food systems and the farm-scale analysis of agricultural sustainability metrics from a feminist economics perspective.

She also works as a senior research technician in several international competitive projects, collaborating with Valencian civil society organizations. Until 2022, she was a research project coordinator at Fundació Assut, where her work focused on agro-environmental monitoring and local agroecological facilitation. Previously, she worked as a consultant and field technician in environmental assessment, as well as providing local-scale technical assistance for the approval of municipal plans (climate and energy, agriculture, rural development, and spatial planning).
