About
Carlos Delgado Caro is a postdoctoral researcher at INGENIO (CSIC-UPV). His research focuses on adult learning, informal experiences and human development, with a special interest in transformative learning processes that emerge in both educational contexts and non-formal educational spaces.
He is an Industrial engineer (Energy techniques Specialisation), holds a Master's degree in Development cooperation (Project management & development processes Specialisation) and a PhD in Local development and international cooperation. He has a Postgraduate degree in Innovation for social and environmental transformation and is currently finishing a Degree in Social education.
He has experience as an engineer, tutor and private teacher in Spain, Peru, UK and Colombia. He is currently a teaching collaborator at the UPV, where he participates in educational innovation projects in both social sciences and STEM disciplines, incorporating participatory methodologies and gamification approaches through role-playing games.
He has carried out research stays at the SARChI Chair in Higher Education and Human Development Research Programme (University of the Free State, South Africa), the Universidad de Ibagué (Colombia) and the Dipartimento di Filosofia, Sociologia, Pedagogia e Psicologia Applicata (FISPPA) of the Università degli Studi di Padova (Italy).
He is a member of the International Transformative Learning Association and has presented his work at international conferences on human capabilities, development, educational innovation, and transformative learning. He has also participated in research projects on education for development, innovation systems, and transitions.
